Instructions for using our Pet Washing Room:
- To begin your pet washing, secure your pet to the washtub by attaching them to one of three restraint rings of your choice. Spend a minute or so with your pet getting it comfortable with the tub before you begin its bath.
- Make sure that the selection switch is set to the Bathe position.
- Read the shampoo description chart and select the shampoo that you wish to bathe your pet with. See the chart which shows which products are currently hooked up to the bathing unit and if your selection is currently hooked up simply move the selection switch to the shampoo you have chosen. As an example if you chose Ultra Cleaning Shampoo — Tangerine Scented, it is selection “A” so you would move the selection switch to the “A” position and the bathing unit will dispense this selected shampoo during the bath. If you want a shampoo that is not currently hooked up to the bathing unit, ask the staff member and they will quickly change it over to your selection.
- Once the product switch (A,B,C, or D) has been set, take hold of the spray unit head (yellow hose) and with the spray head directed into the wash tub turn the water on and let it run for a few seconds until the water is warm to the touch.
- With your pet secured to the restraint ring, you are now ready to wash your pet. The shampoos and conditioners are drawn into the spray head through the bathing unit as is the water. All you need to do is hold the spray nozzle about ¾ inches from your pet’s coat and begin washing.
- The best wash technique is to start on one side of the pet and move the spray nozzle from a left to right motion starting at the top of its back near the tail and moving in a line towards the chest. You will see how much coverage each wash pass produces and continue down the body until all areas have been washed.
- Turn your pet around and do the other side in a similar manner.
- Make sure that all areas of the pet have been thoroughly washed including its rear end, underbelly and face. When washing the face ahead area, if you find the water pressure is too great for your pet you can turn it down until the desired pressure is achieved. lf the water pressure is turned down to low, it may not pull up the shampoo. You can also hand wash your pets head and face if desired. A Tearless shampoo (Organic Herbal) is provided in a small bottle on shampoo shelf.
- Once the shampoo bathing is complete, and if you want to apply conditioner, (recommended unless 2 in l shampoo/conditioner used in bathing) turn the selector switch to position “D” and condition your pet in the same manner as you applied the shampoo.
- Once shampoo and conditioning stages of the wash are complete, switch the bathing unit selector switch to Rinse and complete your pet’s wash by thoroughly rinsing the animal. Only fresh water is applied at this stage.
- Dry off your pet with your towel or chamois to remove much of the water then dry your pet in the tub with the high speed dryer.
Staff will clean the room after each visit but we ask that you use the garbage receptacle during your visit as required primarily to dispense of hair extracted from your pet in the wash tub and during brushing.
Remember bathing your pet regularly promotes healthy coats and skin and helps keep your pet looking and smelling fresh.
